Mr Poyry is a mining engineer with more than 30 years experience in the mining industry in Finland, Australia and Ireland. Mr Poyry was employed by the Outokumpu Group from 1975 until December 2006 when he was the General Manager of three underground mines with annual ore production between 0.2 – 1.2 million tonnes per annum. He has been a Manager of Mining at five other underground mines including the Tara Mines in Ireland, the Pyhasalmi mine and the Kemi underground mine. He has also been involved in the evaluation of mining projects in many countries. He commenced with the Dragon Group in January 2007.

Mr Poyry is a member of the Finnish Association of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers.
